The Olympic Games and the IOC
The Olympic Games is an international multi-sport event subdivided into summer and winter sporting events. The summer and winter games are each held every four years (an Olympiad). Until 1992, they were both held in the same year. Since then, they have been separated two years apart.
The International Olympic Committee was founded in 1894 on the initiative of a French nobleman, Pierre Frédy, Baron de Coubertin. The first of the IOC's Olympic Games were the 1896 Summer Olympics, held in Athens, Greece. Participation in the Olympic Games has increased to include athletes from nearly all nations worldwide. With the improvement of satellite communications and global telecasts of the events, the Olympics are consistently gaining supporters. The most recent Summer Olympics were the 2004 Games in Athens and the most recent Winter Olympics were the 2006 Games in Turin. The upcoming games in Beijing are planned to comprise 302 events in 28 sports. As of 2006, the Winter Olympics were competed in 84 events in 7 sports.

Olympic Council of Asia
The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) is a governing body of sports in the conitnent of Asia, currently with 44 member National Olympic Committees. It is the continental organization reognized by the International Olympic Committee. The current president is Sheikh Fahad Al-Sabah (Qatar). The oldest member of the OCASIA or sometimes OCA is the NOC of Japan, recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1912; whereas Timor-Leste is the youngest NOC, joining in 2003(Joined first Olympic Games in Athens last 2004).
The OCA was formed in 1982 and has its permanent headquarters in Kuwait. The main objective of the Olympic Council of Asia is to develop sport, culture and education of Asian youth and to promote international respect, friendship, goodwill & peace through sports.

Philippine Olympic Committee
The Philippine Olympic Committee is a private, non-governmental organization composed of and serve as the mother organization of all National Sports Associations in the Philippines. It is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as having the sole authority for representation of the Philippines in the Olympic Games, the Asian Games, the Southeast Asian Games and other multi-event competitions.
The POC is financially independent and does not receive any subsidy from government, though its member NSAs receive some financial assistance from the Philippine Sports Commission. Instead, the POC supports its own activities with funds generated from sponsorships, licensing fees on the use of the Olympic marks, IOC subsidy and proceeds from special projects and donations.

The Games of the 33rd Olympiad
The 2024 Summer Olympic Games, what will be officially known as the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, is an international athletic event that has yet to be organized by the International Olympic Committee. The bidding for the host city will officially start on 2015 and the winner will be announce in the summer of 2017.
Featuring at least 28 sports with 38 disciplines, the Olympic Games will showcase the best every athlete has to offer. It will also feature some cultural and educational activities throughout the period and hopefully develop Friendship and Camaraderie among all of us.
